This trails is an exclusive wildlife photography expedition with Hermis Haridas. Borneo is the only place you find the endangered species like Orangutan, Proboscis monkey, Silver Lutung etc. We will be traveling to the Indonesian part of Borneo for photographing them. Tanjung Puting is one of the natural wonders of the world and one of the largest and most diverse protected example of extensive coastal tropical heath and peat swamp forest which used to cover much of southern Borneo. .

We will be also visiting the Komodo Island which is the only place you find the endangered Komod Dragons, the largest living species of lizard, growing to a maximum length of 3 metres (10 ft) in rare cases and weighing up to approximately 70 kilograms.

ORANGUTAN TRAILS

DAY 1 – ARRIVAL TO JAKARTA
You will be greeted from Jakarta Internationl Airport by evening. Overnight at the Airport hotel.

DAY 2 – ARRIVAL TO BORNEO
After check out we depart for the airport for the flight at 6:40 AM to Pangkalan Bun, Kalimantan. Up on arrival you will be greeted by the local guide and after a short drive of 20 minutes to Kumai, you’ll board a private Klotok river boat. We will slowly explore the quiet river by Klotok while observing the incredible wildlife along the riverside, like long nosed (proboscis) monkeys, long tail macaques, birds and as well enjoying the mezmersising beauty of the rainforest. Dinner is served on the boat, where you’ll spend the night.

We provide a simple mattress, pillow, fine meal, bottled mineral water, mosquito nets, helpful guides and boatmen, cook and kitchen facilities. Simple toilet facilities are also available on the boat.

DAY 3 – BORNEO
Today we begin our search for Orangutans. We will be visiting Camp Leakey where the orangutans has been reintroduced into the rainforest. We will stop in between the places where we can photograph Orangutans very close. Dinner is served, before spending the night on the boat again. If you would like to take a small hike during the night, our team will guide you around the forest of Pesalat to observe nocturnal animals.

DAY 4 – BORNEO
Early morning along with a wonderful breakfast in the boat we will cruise down the river to visit the other orangutan rehabilitation camps at Pondok Tanggui and rest of the day looking for the Orangutans and other species.

Tonight we will stay at Rimba Ecolodge hotel so that the next day you can get fresh arrange your baggage and be ready to leave for the airport.

DAY 5 – BORNEO TO JAKARTA
For the final morning, you have the opportunity to choose your own adventure. Otherwise you can just enjoy the forest and surroundings, before a transfer to the airport for your next destination.
Reach local airport by 1:30 PM to take a flight back to Jakarta at 3:15 PM.

Up on arriving Jakarta International airport you will be transferred to the Airport hotel inside the airport.

KOMODO DRAGON TRAILS

DAY 6 – ARRIVAL TO KOMODO ISLAND
After check out we depart for the airport for the flight at 6:40 AM to Labuan Bajo. Up on arriving at the Labuan Bajo airport, transfer to the pier of Labuan Bajo to get board, then set cruising to Rinca Island. Trekking to Wae Waso in Rinca Island walking through the typical dry forest to explore the Island of Komodo dragon, where you will find not just the Dragons but might also encounter other wild animals like, deer, wild bualo, long-tailed macaque and wild Boar also numerous of birds. Keep your eyes up as sometime you will find the young Komodo dragons on the trees. A local ranger will lead you through this nature reserve. If you would like to take a small hike during the night, our team will guide you around the forest to observe nocturnal animals. Dinner and Overnight on Boat.

DAY 7 – KOMODO ISLAND
Early morning start cruising to Komodo Island and we look for the possibility wildlife photography on the beach at Loh Liang in Komodo Island. Late afternoon cruise to Sebayur island. Dinner and Overnight on boat.

DAY 8 – KOMODO ISLAND TO JAKARTA
Early morning cruise to Pink Beach for snorkeling. The beach has got its name from its red coral, its clear waters and vast marine life. You can have a good time relaxing and swimming, returning to Labuan Bajo. On arrival, then directly transfer by car to the airport to catch your flight back to Jakarta at 2:40 PM.

Arrive at Jakarta International Airport by evening and wait for your flight back. Here ends the wonderful journey with the Orangutans and Komodo dragons and many other endangered and endemic species of the Bornean and Komodo part of Indonesia.

You can also take a room if you want to freshen up before your flight.
